2013: A look back at a productive, memorable year
With the end of the year in sight, we thought we’d take a look at some of the major accomplishments in 2013. It was a busy year, indeed!
ShoreTel experienced a record year of growth. We now serve more than 30,000 businesses in over 60 countries with more than 3 million users. We grew the number of ShoreTel Sky customers to record levels. Internationally the company continued to gain market share. In particular, in Asia the number of net new ShoreTel end-user customers doubling in the 12 month period ended June 30, 2013. And in EMEA, analyst firm Canalys’ Unified Communications Analysis report recently noted that ShoreTel had a 21.9 percent year-on-year growth in EMEA.
As part of this growth we welcomed hundreds of new customers in 2013, and are especially excited by our relationships with the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Utah State University and NFP. We also implemented a global UC solution for Williams F1, and entered into a cool partnership with the race team – if you haven’t already, check out our latest Williams video here.
2013 brought a steady stream of new products, including ShoreTel 14, new phones (the 400 series IP phones and the ShoreTel IP930D DECT), Mobility 7 software, two releases of ShoreTel Enterprise Contact Center software, Call Flow Editor for ShoreTel Sky Portal, and the ShoreTel Dock. Customers especially love the ShoreTel Mobility 7 client that has a “join” button that automatically dials the specific conference call and enters the conference participant code – freeing users from juggling apps while trying to memorize numbers and PIN codes. And the ShoreTel Dock tapped into the ongoing BYOD movement, generating lots of buzz and press coverage (and we’re sure it made it on to the holiday wish lists of many customers).
On the awards front, ShoreTel took home many accolades, from Frost & Sullivan’s Company of the Year award for unified communications and collaboration, North America, to NetworkWorld Asia Readers’ Choice ‘Rising Star’ award for communication and collaboration, to INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine awarding ShoreTel Sky the 2013 Internet Telephony Excellence Award. See our complete list of awards here.
The ShoreTel channel team was also busy redesigning our Champion Partner Program to make partners more successful. Starting Jan. 1, 2014, the program will include a simplified discount structure, an opportunity registration program, an enhanced market development funds program, and modified support buy pricing.
All of this activity has us feeling good, if not a bit tired! We look forward to a few days off to celebrate the holidays, and then we’ll be rolling up our sleeves to makes sure 2014 is our best year yet. We thank all of our employees, partners and customers for a memorable and prosperous year, and wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season!
