Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lone Star Realizes Unmatched Value Using ShoreTel
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the largest mentoring organization in the United States. Its volunteers provide more than 10,000 children with support, guidance, friendship and fun through safe, positive mentoring relationships.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lone Star, located in NorthTexas, had separate and disparate telephone systems at all of its offices. It needed a solution that would help tie all of its locations together, minimize costs, and enhance productivity and customer service.
A decade ago ShoreTel provided the volunteer organization with a complete IP telephony solution, including ShoreTel voice switches, ShoreTel IP phones, ShoreTel Communicator and ShoreTel Director for system management. Since the original implementation, the organization was able to easily annex 11 additional locations, and now serves nearly 350 users.
They have realized many benefits:
- As Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lone Star has grown, the ShoreTel system has been able to accommodate new office locations as they were established.
- Least-cost routing saves the organization thousands of dollars a month in long distance charges. ShoreTel offers Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lone Star unparalleled value.
- The ShoreTel system allows employees to work locally within the communities they serve, while offering the same robust features used at the corporate office.
- ShoreTel UC core software helps increase productivity via tools such as voice routing, automated attendant, advanced telephony features, unified messaging, call accounting and reporting, and powerful workgroup routing.
“The hardware is unbelievably reliable and frequent software upgrades make our ShoreTel system as relevant today as it was in 2004 and you can’t say that about many technology products,” said Sean Ryan, director of information services for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lone Star. “I’ve never lost a minute of sleep since deploying ShoreTel; the system keeps on running, and running and running.”
